An hour west is the Oregon Coast where you can whale watch in Depot Bay, fly kites in Lincoln City, beach comb along the northern Oregon coast, visit the Hatfield Marine Science Center/Aquarium in Newport and enjoy Moe’s famous clam chowder.
Venture into Portland for a day to shop the boutique stores on 23rd or explore the Pearl District. Visit the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) or spend time wandering about the famous Portland Rose Gardens or Portland’s Oriental Gardens. Stroll the waterfront, take in a show at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall or visit one of the many comedy clubs downtown.
A little over an hour northeast is the spectacular scenic Columbia Gorge. Waterfalls and hiking are on the agenda here at Bridal Veil Falls and Multnomah Falls. A little farther east to Hood River and you can watch sailboarders catch the wind and waves while you enjoy a local micro brew.
In our immediate area an easy hike at Champoeg State Park or Silver Falls State Park will allow you to stretch your legs and take in the beautiful Oregon scenery.
